Community groups across the UK are being invited to apply to the Tesco Community Grant scheme for funding for local projects. The focus is on supporting children and families.

Funding pots of £500, up to £1000 and up to £1500 will be available for projects and Tesco customers will be able to choose which project receives the most funding by voting in store every time they shop.

The scheme is open to registered charities and not-for-profit organisations, via an on-line application form. Tesco customers or staff, can also nominate any local project or good cause that they would like to see supported and they will be contacted and if eligible, encouraged to apply.

Many local groups have benefited from grants via the Newtonhill store.
