Blow for out-of-school clubs

Aberdeenshire Council was today contacting private providers who operate out-of-school clubs from the local authority’s premises to ask them to seek an alternative venue.

The council has had to take these steps in order to fulfill its responsibility regarding the reopening of schools following the easing of lockdown and in line with Scottish Government requirements.

Among the groups affected will be Flexible Childcare Services based in Hillside School in Portlethen.

Council officers can provide information on possible alternatives within the locality.

Officers anticipate that this will be the situation for some considerable time to come, however, they will continually review this position as public health guidance is received.
