I was finding out yesterday about the council A2B bus service for those who cannot access public transport, especially older folk and people with health problems.
A resident had asked for some information, and here is what I have been told by council officers.
They can provide local trips for Portlethen residents on Wednesdays between 9.50am and 2.45pm. Residents should call 01467 535 333.
Not all services are listed on the council website https://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/roads-and-travel/public-transport/a2b-dial-a-bus/council-run-a2b/ because there have been so many changes due to covid affecting passenger demand and the availability of drivers. For the moment contact the council direct and they can discuss individual circumstances. Once things are more settled the web page will be reviewed.
Folk in Newtonhill might see the A2B minibus at Tesco as this is a weekly service from Stonehaven to Newtonhill. This service was introduced several years ago following requests from Stonehaven residents due to the lack of supermarkets in the town.
