Please cut back overhanging bushes

This Saturday is the last day this year there will be a garden waste recycling pick-up at the Coastal Park car park in Newtonhill. So, if you have bush clippings and tree trimmings to get rid of, now’s the time.

Of course there is the alternative of the Badentoy Household Recycling Centre.

I cut back some bushes in my garden the other day which were impinging on the pavement.

It might not seem like a major problem, however walking along the pavement becomes a bit of a challenge for someone with impaired vision.

My photograph shows some bushes growing on the verge have become so big that a quarter of the road is no longer useable. I have reported this to the Roads Service and they plan to get them cut back. An extreme case, of course.

    Hi Ian
We welcome the fact that Newtonhill has a garden waste collection service. However, it’s madness that the service ends at this time of year. It’s now – and for the next few weeks – that gardens need to be cleared of all their summer bedding/ herbaceous plants that have died back, and, of course, masses of fallen leaves. We would suggest that the service should be available through November at least, and preferably until mid-December.
