Full planning permission has been granted for a petrol station plus a drive-through restaurant and coffee shop to the north of Hillside.
The site is to the south east of KCA Deutag on the City South office park.
One of the conditions being imposed by Aberdeenshire Council is that the developers must construct an unclimbable barrier along the boundary of the site with the trunk road to minimise the risk of pedestrians and animals gaining uncontrolled access to the trunk road with the consequential risk of accidents.
Developers must also submit details of the lighting within the site for the planning authority’s approval, to ensure there will be no distraction or dazzle to drivers on the A92 so that the safety of the traffic on the trunk road and general amenity of the area will not be diminished.
A litter collection policy must provided too.

Don’t suppose they’ve got room for a drive through car wash?
A car wash does not appear to be included in the plans.
Any possibility that a Rapid Electric Vehicle charger could also be installed at this new site. The current nearest Rapid chargepoints are Stonehaven railway station or at Aberdeen Snowsports Centre, Garthdee, Aberdeen
Looking at the plans there appear to be four electric vehicle charging points included. It would be up to the developer to decide what they might be, though.
