Newtonhill, Muchalls and Cammachmore Community Council covered a number of important issues tonight. Here are the points that caught my eye:
– Police do not have the resources to the deal with rogue parking outside Newtonhill primary school and other schools. The issue was raised with a local officer who attended the meeting. She also said there had been 62 incidents in Newtonhill since the start of the year, resulting on only one crime report after a family dispute. In Muchalls there had been two incidents, and none in Cammachmore.
– Plans are being drawn up to repair the gates and styles around Cran Hill. Community councillor Eric Hargreaves is to contact local landowners first.
– Frank Caie and Eric Hargreaves have been nominated to represent Cammachmore on the community council, and similarly Michael Morgan to represent Newtonhill. A vacancy for Newtonhill remains.
– The next meeting of the Kincardine and Mearns bus forum will take place on the evening of 10 March in the council chambers at Viewmount, Stonehaven. That is the opportunity for the public to put complaints about local bus services to Stagecoach bosses.
– Aberdeenshire Council’s Karen McWilliam gave a presentation on developer contributions, explaining that funding was available for projects which result from new developments. Unfortunately the funds cannot be used to deal with existing issues.
– The Chapelton developers are to be contacted again about securing the waste bin at the park and choose. It also needs emptied!
