Focus on Newtonhill area

An interesting round-up in the latest minutes from Newtonhill, Muchalls and Cammachmore Community Council. The members don’t meet either in person or virtually because of the pandemic, but exchange emails.

Here are some of the key topics:

MOOR HOUSES – Barratt has now completed the first three houses at the Park Place entrance to the development including the show home/sales office with the first resident moving in on Thursday 29 April.

The 30 Grampian Housing Association affordable homes will be completed in three phases with the first eight ready for occupancy by 17 May, a further 10 in August and the final 12 in October.

A total of 42 house shells have been erected and are now in various stages of completion with 20 more house foundations ready for the shells to be erected.

The completion date for the whole project remains, subject to house sales, by the end of 2022.

ROADS – Aberdeenshire Council’s Roads Service has confirmed that contractors are being called in to tackle major potholes in the Newtonhill and Portlethen area.

WASTE WATER – Scottish Water has confirmed that its waste water systems have capacity for the potential increased population of Newtonhill.

COMMUNITY COUNCILLORS – Aberdeenshire Council has announced that nominations for membership of the community council will open on 5 May and close on 26 May.

The annual general meeting is scheduled to take place on 16 June.
