I’ve just been taking my weekly look at the covid-19 statistics. The situation in Aberdeenshire is remarkably good now. However covid-19 is still out there.

• No deaths linked to covid-19 recorded in Aberdeenshire in the past week. The cumulative total remains at 188.

• 17 more cases recorded in Aberdeenshire in the past seven days. In previous weeks the figure was 45, 38, 58, 79, 100, 75, 72, 40, 85, 97, 123, 164, 250, 310, 491 and 777.

• 5963 people tested in Aberdeenshire were tested over the past week, with 0.4% positive.

• The seven day positive rate in Aberdeenshire per 100,000 people was 6.5, according to Public Health Scotland’s website.

Meanwhile the vaccination programme rolls on.
