Focus on Portlethen

Portlethen and District Community Council met tonight via the internet.

A wide range of issues were discussed, including youth disturbance in the town, bringing back bobbies on bikes, vandalism at the Moss, demonstrations on flyovers, new planning applications (including an incinerator bottom ash processing site at Cairnrobin), littering, protection for trees, parking on pavements, donations to various groups, the growth of Chapelton, Findon underpass lights, pothole repairs being planned, finishing with a long debate on recycling.

Nominations to join the community council open on 11 May, and close on 1 June.

Two members of the public attended, along with three Aberdeenshire councillors. A Police Scotland officer was also present to answer questions.

The next meeting is on 25 May.
