Play parks getting ready for use

Work is under way to ready the 450 play parks in Aberdeenshire for re-opening on 29 June.

Each one has to pass a safety inspection, have any routine maintenance carried out, and the grass cut. The cuttings are being collected wherever possible.

Here are pictures of Newtonhill Park and Nicol Park in Portlethen (the second one is courtesy of a resident: thank you).

Let’s hope they cut the jungle like grass so that the kids can actually get on the play equipment

The play areas that I have seen have had the grass cut. Let me know where this hasn’t happened and I will chase this up with officers.
